Ojo de Dios (yarn mandalas)

The "Ojo de Dios" or God's Eye is an ancient symbol made by the Huichol Indians of Mexico and the Aymara Indians of Bolivia.

In Mexico, The central eye was made when a child was born.  Each year, a bit of yarn was added until the child turned five at which point the Ojo was complete.

They are a beautiful and relaxing item to make. Also called yarn mandalas, aka yoga for the brain.

You will initially be guided through the process of making a basic 4-sided god's eye, which is at the heart of your Ojo de Dios. Once confident, we will combine these to make an 8 sided mandala. You will be taught 4 different wrapping/weaving techniques which you can then combine to create endless, unique designs.

All resources, including dowels, yarn and extras, are included in the price of 350rmb, as well as drinks and snacks to keep us going.
